No trip to the city is complete without a trip to The French Quarter. Wander the streets and see the many unique shops and by all means go back to Bourbon Street at night to see the unique dynamics of the area. Like no place in the US.
The people of New Orleans have their own language. Its tone, lilt, and slang are indigenous to this city and reflect its ethnic history and tradition. If you ask me which city I would like to live in USA, my answer would be NOLA!
The arts are everywhere... and it is not simply the jazz bands that can be spotted throughout the city improvising jam sessions. It isn't simply the street artists selling their amazing drawings. It isn't the great food (gator bites, Gumbo, shrimps, po'boys). It isn't the smell of beignets or croissants... it is all of the above and much more!!!
The greatness of a city that has told the world that Katrina didn't wash away the true NOLA spirit. It gives tourists a chance to view the futile along with the much needed historical background. It shows that some cities live and love on no matter what. I went to NOLA just once and I love it!! I wouldn't mind going back over and over again...
